Mako Eyes

Just look back into these eyes,
These memories twist and turn,
I'm tangled in a fiction of lies,
As I let my town burn,
I let it burn.

I can't stop myself from playing out this role,
Soldier 1st Class that what I was told,
And she always believed I'd be there for her,
And she always believed every lie I told.

And my town is hers,
And this fire is for her,
But he'll burn her town to the ground,
I can't stop it and even if I could,
She'd never know what I did,
I was too late to save her 7 years ago,
This future I'll forge with all the friends I meet
On a journey to find myself,
To find myself within these Mako eyes,
Infused with darkness,
She'll save the planet for the last time,
And in her death like a dream in deep streams,
I will learn from her and play my part,
To find myself within these Mako eyes,
Infused with darkness,
A pool of emptyness and angst.
