» Poem: Darkness
Darkness
written by Morbid Angel
05:14 PM 10/22/04
I was lost,
Consumed by the darkness inside me,
Never thought I would come to the light.

Now I see,
That the shadows were merely concealing,
Happiness that I had never known.

You touched my life with your
Warmth and beauty,
But love and I are not meant to be.

Tragedy,
And fate have conspired to destroy us,
And now the light has gone,
Life stands still for me.

Lost again,
The darkness has opened jaws wide now,
And I’m hoping it swallows me whole.
