» Poem: He Lost His Way
He Lost His Way
written by Morbid Angel
07:11 PM 11/7/04
He told me he was falling to pieces,
Still a boy inside, not yet a man,
Just a step away from him was freedom,
But there were chains that bound his hands,
He said he'd do anything for us,
Whatever we demand,
So scared of weakness,
He told me I could never understand,
His eyes so far away, in a distant land.
He's halfway between boy and man,
He's tied up, the exit is just through the door,
I have to sit and watch my love grow old.
He frees himself, escapes the circle,
Reaches for my hand,
I pull him up and notice the difference,
That dying boy is now a man.
Eyes return from that distant land,
He won the fight of boy and man.
Saw the exit, just through the door,
Sat and watched my love go far.
Then I take a look now, he's again weakened,
This time to only fade away,
It was just false hope, he's been defeated,
He lost his way...
