» Poem: Mother
Mother

You screwed it over,
That's why I ran away,
You screwed it over,
Hit me across the face the next day,
I thought so many times about what I should know,
Should I have a stay or should I go?
Can I risk this life that has so many unique and fragile dreams,
That you may shatter within the screams,
And those aches in my stomach the hunger beneath my skin,
Tell me mom, will you do it again?
I tell you who I am and I get a smack across the face,
Is this something you think you're going to win like some kind of violent race?
Because I can't hit you back that will yet to end my destiny,
Tell me mom, what do you see in yourself, even better, me?
