Escape
written by Morbid Angel02:52 PM 11/12/04| Maybe telling him you loved him was a mistake but it's a risk you were willing to take, now you're so scared of what he'll say, spend your life running away. Cover your face if you see him in the street, change your identity, don't be the same way you used to be. We're all just trying to escape our fears and we're all running, we don't know what we're running from but we're escaping from something, to some people your fears might look like nothing, but to you they mean everything. Come find me waiting, I'm running too, we can run together, me and you. I'm scared of love and scared of being hurt, you're scared of being broken or pushed into the dirt, maybe if we run together we can finish first. And at the end we'll run by with our hands tied in a knot, we have so much energy left because of the fear that we've dropped. The thing that I'm most scared of is the thing that makes me complete, it's the one thing that can lift me off my feet, 'cause loving you is the only thing I need. We escaped all of the people who tried to push us down, we got through to the other side without turning round, the darkness didn't affect me nor did the sounds, becomes you're the one who loves me my feet don't touch the ground. If you're running from your future or running from your past, find someone to run with and you'll run through it fast, This day that you are living will never be your last, I promise you I love you and I won't hide behind this mask. If you feel like tripping over just call out my name, I'll stand beside you and keep you playing this game, because when you win it feels so good and life will never feel the same. |
