» Poem: But I Won't Let Go
But I Won't Let Go
written by Morbid Angel

I feel like I've walked out of a dream,
And into another lie,
This thing called love is tearing me apart,
How can you expect me not to cry?

My world is falling apart,
But I won't let go,
It's breaking my heart,
I won't let go, too scared to be alone.

How can you expect my eyes to stop flowing,
My wrists to stop bleeding,
You've stopped my strength growing,
This vow of love, so misleading.

My world is falling apart,
But I won't let go,
It's breaking my heart,
I won't let go, too scared to be alone.

You want the world to stop,
Caught in a moment, a step from the edge,
Holding me so high over a fifty foot drop,
Threatening to let me fall to my death.

My world is falling apart,
But I won't let go,
It's breaking my heart,
I won't let go, too scared to be alone.

Why am I breaking
Why am I hating
Why can't I just love you,
Why can't I just smile.
