Smiling Through The Tears
written by psycho_bunny10:16 PM 11/30/04Stars are bright,
I watch the night,
the sway of the shadowy branches,
the hoot of the lonely owl,
I sit in the grassy feilds, looking up at the heavens,
letting my mind wander to shadows.
I shine the lantern in on the gloom,
lighting my room,
I see the pictures of my loved ones on the walls,
a smile sneaks onto my face,
and my bad memories are erased.
I walk down a street,
and feel the urge to weep,
knowing that tonight again I will not sleep,
that you will not be there,
to brush away my hair as I cry,
and so my mind once again wanders to shadows.
I sit in a dark theatre,
watching the last romantic scene,
wishing it was me,
and then I remember you,
how you made all my dreams come true,
and once again a smile sneaks onto my lips.
Shadows may haunt my mind,
and tears I may often cry,
but the love I receive from others,
washes away my sadness,
giving me a hope for gladness.
So when tears I cry,
and shadows cross my mind,
I remember you,
which sneaks a smile onto my face,
by your good grace.
I thank you. |
