» Poem: Earth
Earth
written by Morbid Angel

Looking up to that one last star I see a shine,
Slowly but surely, it's counting down the time.
Blink and you'll miss it fading,
In the flicker of an eyelid the world becomes nothing.

Shining over the surface of the worlds fair skin,
Highlighting all the scars but it never stops to think,
Maybe for this one last time I'll dance in the light of the sun,
And forever more I'll remain still in the darkness of the moon.

A strength more amazing then any we posses,
Living as humans, many of us depressed.
We give in too easy and live away in the dark,
One last chance to shine again, one chance to go far,
Throw it all away because you haven't got it in you,
Pull yourself of the ground because nobody does it for you.

Author's footnotes and comments on this Poem:
I don't know...it's comparing the Earth to a human. It goes through alot but it never thinks "hey, I'll just give up." it keeps going. And not many people are like that.
