» Poem: A Lonely Christmas
A Lonely Christmas
written by fuzzypunkhat
02:24 AM 12/13/04
As I drudged across the sleet,
I realized everything I missed,
Memories of the family and you so sweet,
Dragging me down,
I can't breathe,
Followed within the freezing water without a sound,
Struggling to hold on and pull myself out,
I remember now what you had said,
"I love you, there's no reason to pout."
But I had competition and I couldn't compete!
If you loved me so much why did you leave me for her?
You're the only one I dream of when I sleep,
Christmas eve when you ruined me,
Why did you do it, on that day?
Was I so blind that not even her I could see?
I sit here now alone with the darkness,
Thinking of you outside,
I don't want to even begin on starting this,
Maybe I should call you and talk,
Or maybe I could just go home,
Talk to you even though you aren't there along the walk,
I've thought about picking up the blade,
But is it worth it?
Your words didn't make me insane,
Just a tad crazy I've still got my sense,
You've hurt me though,
You've brought it to an obvious extent,
But I'll go to my house and open some presents,
Maybe think of that time,
When you put a flower in my hair underneath the moon so pleasant,
My family will ask me what's wrong,
But I won't reply,
Because I've been putting it off for long,
I'll just sit here at home,
Without a word to fail to escape my lips,
On this Christmas so alone.
