staring blankly
into nowhere,
her eyes have
lost the laughter
that once
twinkled so brightly.
in its place
is a single, solitary
tear.
her lips,
which once held
the shadow
of a smile,
now hold only
the shape of a frown.
as you
look at her face
you see
what the hurt
has done to her;
made it hard for her
to live....
