'It wasn't I'

It wasn't I who dragged the blade across my skin,
Because your little girl could never possibly sin.
It wasn't I who caused that strawberry gash,
Because your star would never crumble to ash.

It wasn't I who had a thirst for fresh crimson blood,
Who sat so helpless at night as tears formed a flood.
It wasn't I who lasted five weeks with no fresh scabs,
Who smiled as across her skin that blade did drag.

It isn't I who regrets picking up that tool,
Drowning in the sorrow of a tear filled pool.
It wasn't I who's feathers fell from her wings,
Who looked for any happiness an angel could bring.

It wasn't I who sat and dreamed of days when nothing mattered,
Who now sits with her life displayed, so torn and so shattered.
It wasn't I who dreamt of the days when she was just small,
Who never knew anyone that had ever broken her every fall.

It isn't I who sits with the bracelets up her arm,
Who covers the marks of her regrettable self harm.
It isn't I who has scars all up her left side,
Who shall never be rid of the crimson she cried.

It was never me for I could never ever do,
All those things to myself... is it true?
It was never me who had pain that would never subside,
Surely I would never sit and catch the tears that I cried?

No I'm sure it couldn't possibly be..
No..surely..that girl isn't me..?
