» Poem: This Winter
This Winter

The pride I set aside,
For times of such divide,
This wall stares through me,
Never knew what I wanted to be,
And when my soul shakes so cold,
I'll sit on the step outside your door,
As the winter kiss stings my eyes,
And reminiscing on all the goodbyes,
As your car pulls away from the drive,
The sinking feeling has finally arrived,
And I walk through this street,
The darkness my only guide,
To light the way back home.

The doors covered in frost,
I don't even remember your face,
In this moment im frozen; lost.
And you break apart as memories shatter like ice,
Yet I knock on the door just to feel your heart beat,
In my mind I fall,
In my mind we fall;
And as I let go I finally see:

Theres nothing in this house;
Theres nothing here for me.
