» Poem: wasted one last breath
wasted one last breath
written by trulybroken57

just one last breath
is all we are,
what we waste our
lives to do
how can you pretend
its more than that?
for no one cares
that once you're gone,
after all the pain
and suffering you endured,
and then taking that
one last breath,
no one hears you
say "goodbye".
and as you lay there
cold and stiff,
they close the casket,
you're gone forever.
as you realize
that no one cares,
your chest went up,
your chest went down,
then they lowered you
into the ground
you wasted your life
for that one last breath,
and now its over,
forgotten forever.
some of us are
ashes that are
blown by the
howling wind,
and some of us are
left to rot
in a box
beneath the earth.
but no matter what
we all took
that sacred,
that scary,
that final,
one last breath.
what a waste

I've only been here five minutes, so my opinion probably doesn't really count, but i think it's good. very morbid, but it's meant to be.
