» Poem: Goodbye
Goodbye
written by lost_and_forgotten
10:57 PM 12/21/04
I let my pen wander
And go astray
Across this piece of paper
What did it have to say?

Love is for fools
Who are hiding from truth
And faith is not real
It's all a giant spoof

Loyalty is just a word
Promises are never kept
Passion never lasts
She drempt of death as she slept

Life is cruel
And loved ones betray you
What's right is impossible
Peace is never true

Flowers don't live on forever
Their beauty soon will fade
Their funeral will be on top
Of the shallow waters we wade

Minutes pass by as seconds or hours
To wait for a brand new day
Although they're the people you trust
The truth is not what they say

I see now my pen is right
For it is wiser than I
There is no use in continuing on
So now I say goodbye
