hopelessly exposed

farther and farther
away from me.
i am becoming
desperate for the
will to keep going.
the lock that
held me together
is slowly
rusting away.
as the door is opened
for everyone to see
that my hope
is melting away,
becoming one
with the hidden pain,
i am frantically screaming
for a way out
yet no one hears
the sad cries
of a hopelessly exposed soul |
