» Poem: He Finally Won
He Finally Won

The buds have wilted. I watched the petals fall. I sat here and wondered, "Will he come back at all? Will he return? Will he remember? Will he forget that breath-taking day in December?" The day we watched the snow fall and the wide waters glisten; the way we held each other so close and listen. The wind howled, the rain fell. The moment was so perfect, it's almost impossible to tell. The details are so precious, the meaning so precise. I could never explain it all in one day, it was really all that nice. I could never forget the way his eyes sparkled whenever they filled with tears. I'll never forget the way we talked about how it'd be in a few years. But it doesn't matter now, it's all be said and done. As much as I hate to admit it, he finally broke me down, he finally won.
