Astray
written by SuperBob07:04 AM 7/3/04Let me wander from the path that has been marked
I want to get out and see the secrets of the deaf
Show me how to release all these burdens
Lead me astray
Wandering through the woods and underbrush
Grabbing on to figments we don't see
Savouring each stolen glance between the moons
Lead me astray
Hoping for the scars to fade
Surrounding the valleys with butchered deer
Lowering ourselves into that dreaded mist calm
Lead me astray
Wallowing in the pity of the under dogs
Shooting down the alpha each time it finds prey
Betting the world would harvest our flesh
Lead me astray
Starting out as innocent and beloved
Morphing into desolate despair
Falling for the pessimism of the over kill
Lead me astray |
