A Cur's Doll
written by Orelinde02:14 AM 1/26/05Designed on early assembly lines,
no pairs are congruent - as should be.
One writing star is given four prongs;
another is given the ordered five.
One orb is painted a stunning gray;
the other is only splotched with green.
Money cannot; will not be received,
people refuse to purchase the weird.
The doll is found by an arrogant cur
his mind ticking away; thinking of fixing,
this little doll that is unnatural.
A frown sets in; the toy likes its differences.
So yellow dog - wind her up and pull her sting;
make her go, talk, dance, and sing. Fix
her up, clear her eyes; glue together her insides.
Do as you wish, little whelp, wed her; bed her
and keep her forever by your side. |

This isn't the original version. I've taken one stanza out, but I think the poem is fine without it anyway. [ View Orelinde's Profile ] [ Go to the Poetry Portal ] This Poem has been viewed 100 times
