» Poem: Love You Like I Do
Love You Like I Do
written by Morbid Angel
11:12 PM 1/29/05
Don't call it keeping secrets,
Call it hiding from the truth.
I trust myself to keep them,
I'm just trying to protect them from you.
Maybe you won't understand them,
Or see why I bleed tonight,
You'll think that I don't need you,
Or blame yourself for the mistakes in my life.
But it's always been my fault,
I don't want to make my problems become yours,
This weight on my back is making me fall,
But I think that I'm strong enough.
To get back up again,
To keep my secrets from you again,
To stay in the dark,
It's not where I belong,
With a smile on my face,
I've been here for too long.
Take my hand and I'll share with you,
The secrets of a dark past,
The moments I've cried,
And all the reasons why,
Just don't think I'm twisted,
I'm not ready to die.
Whenever you need me,
I'll tell you what to do,
When it's right to cry,
Love you like I do.
