» Poem: Everything I Deserve
Everything I Deserve
written by Morbid Angel

Break my heart for all it's worth, stretch it to the extreme. Take us to the end of the Earth, but theres no breaking me. I've been through everything to get to you, smashed my way through life. Now in return, give me something I deserve, I might not have won but at least I tried. Tear my soul until it breaks, stop me being real. On my guard, I'm wide awake, stealing all you feel. I've touched the end of the road to find you, and snapped back to where I start, give me something I deserve, a little piece of your heart. Pierce my skin until I bleed, drain me of my blood. I'll admit that you are what I need, if you show me love. I've came so close to nothing to touch you, and I only end up dead, so give me something I deserve, a look inside your head. Take my hand until I smile, hold me until my eyes close tight. Put my heart on show, my soul on trial, until I won my fight. And here I stand, in some distant land, with everything I deserve.
