» Poem: The Blood Of My Angel
The Blood Of My Angel
written by Morbid Angel

Perfect angels are never really what you imagine them to be, you just close your eyes and dread the worst. The blood of my angel will drain my thirst, turning it into pure hatred for everything I trusted. Take my seconds away until I'm back in time, before you fell into my life. So I can avoid the path I didn't mean to take, the light at the end of the tunnel can sometimes be fake. And leads you into hell. Where you'll never get a second chance to fall for your angel, instead you are left in the ashes of what burned away into nothing. I really believed I could spend my life tucked under your wing, and now my life is fucked up and I'm alone in the rain. Wondering where my angel is, who the hell is he with, clutching onto heaven as if it were your wings. Maybe one day you'll fly back to me, until then I'll be waiting for the blood of my angel.
