» Poem: Monday is the Fortune Teller's Disaster
Monday is the Fortune Teller's Disaster
written by Orelinde
05:20 AM 2/1/05
11:14 P.M.
The rooster crows
with an irritability equal
to the (and) mounting
like the sound of mentors
(Box Springs sing) through walls.

There is unfinished work
in my Eastpak. Sleepless
is as good a time as ever
(to get things done).
Orbit, a lighter, CKOne,
Aquafina, and soft durable
Kleenex tissue are:
hidden inspirations.

11:30 P.M.
These eyes burn. I should
have taken my lenses out.
Laziness - a genuine habit.
The Eastpak mocks me;
I'm not quite tired.
I'll sneak some more
time into my life.

Author's footnotes and comments on this Poem:
This is the "unconscious" style. The kind where ya don't really think about what you're writing, you just write it. Except, the rooster across the street really WAS crowing at 11:14 pm...
