Hello There! (My Reflection)

Reflection in my mirror.
Who are you?
You seem so formerly to me.
I think I once met your sad look before.
Do you remember me?
I wonder could this be the reason.
Yes, the reason I toss and turn at night.
Young girl, it’s true that I do know who you are.
Oh we’ve met, in the shadows of the day.
My sad look we once shared so often.
No reaction, so we done remember much of it.
I see bits of what it is you tell me.
Not so clear to see, sorry to say.
Can I ask you one more question before I leave.
Do you remember what it’s like to feel alive?
I can’t seem to get it, but I know that I once had it.
Why yes I do, the feeling was so wonderful for both you and I.
The light of the dawn break on our pale skin.
The smiles and the laughter that once rang from the day to the night.
The friendships and relationships were both hard and great at the same time.
I’m so sorry, for these are just the memories I have.
So little to tell you, but it won’t make much of a difference.
Yes, but I am grateful.
For now maybe I can plug little images together.
Oh dreaming of what once used to be.
I know it might take me under, I won’t get any better.
At least I can be happy with what I once had, even if I can’t seem to remember.

I now know that you were once who I used to be. |
