This was no gift
written by suicide_penguin12:06 PM 2/19/05By hurried steps the silence disturbed
A man rushes past, he knows not why
Off his hands, he can't shake the dirt
His intentions good then all went awry
Gambled with life, tried cheating to win
Now hurt and betrayed by all his lying
Must stifle the call heard deep within
And then face the pain of slowly dying
Once he was strong, honest and fair
For what has he allowed such a decay?
The light is gone, it's time to despair
For hope is lost, there's a Hell to pay
Wasted a chance - a gift away thrown
And the memories of evil won't fade
With crushed dreams so hard to atone
For sins that while dreaming were made
Colin, all life's desire left in the past
The only hope for the end to be swift
Just one wish for the pain not to last
And one more grudge: "This was no gift!" |

Wow! Nice poem, loved the plot and the rhymes were fairly original. |
