Misunderstood

I was wrong
You only thought you were there to help me
You thought I was ignorant
You thought I was narcissistic
You said I would someday understand
Today arrives, I still see no point in your reason
Mind games played
Life's too short
Try to see it through your eyes
Yet all I see is hypocriscy
Now you have many fooled
My best friend went to you
For the material posessions you had
The fact that you are a year older than me
Seems to be your justification to be condescending towards me
You thought because I always had a smile on my face
I was naive, unaware...
But you don't know what I've been through
You'll never understand me
I guess my best friend is just as superficial as you
I am alone
My monsters and demons nurtured
I feel bad, bad intentions
My best friend lied to me
I tried to be fair
But how many 15 year olds value this concept?
Too caught up to see the bigger picture
You thought you broke me
You were jealous
And yes... I try to see it through your eyes, through others' eyes
I have decided that I am not being ignorant, unfair
I am not in denial
I am trying to be as realistic as possible
But for now, fate has ironically left me alone
When this passes, I will move on. |

I know this might sound like I'm pitying myself, but it's poetry, and I want to write this for all people who have felt this way towards anyone, especially those they care/have cared about. Please don't think I'm being narcissistic (I know, I have used this word a lot!) PLEASE COMMENT!

| i went through something like this which is why I'm commenting to say... you can express your feelings through poetry in a way I never could. i love this. awesome job!
