Aging (Comments if you like)
written by xxxxxxblackdragonxxxxxx01:58 AM 2/26/05There was a time when I was younger
Only a year ago
When I believed I would never become old
I don't feel any older
But I look it
These wrinkles are beginning to grace my face
Too many nights on the streets
pollution of my city
Torn between
envy
the person living "right"
thirty-eight years old
Perfect shape
I am not even half that age
Yet I appear older
My vanity catches me off guard
torn between
pride
I should embrace my wrinkles
But am I going to die prematurely?
Cancer?
I believe in taking care of my body
I see all of these antioxidant supplements
That are said to slow the effects of aging
Then I see that too many of these megavitamin doses
Age you prematurely too
Then I read that negative feeliings can age you prematurely
But I don't want to be happy all of the time
That would leave out drama
Life would be boring
I realize it's something you accept in life
Working on eradicating my vanity
Just want to take care of body
What do we believe in our society today?
Who's right?
Who's wrong?
Nonetheless, it's a growth experience |
