A Neurotic homicide

Solemnly smoking a cigarette
Chuckling to himself
About how his fate has been
To be alone all of his life
That familiar stab in his gut
Just loneliness
an old friend
He had made an effort
To make friends
And find a significant other
But he only had had two girlfriends
In his thirty-nine year life span
What the FUCK
WHAT THE FUCK
was wrong with him
All of his friends had left in high school
Sitting in his car
Watching his friend
Who he hadn't seen in twenty years
Take her clothes off
Ahh... to exchange a kiss
To feel intimate towards another being
Tears filled his eyes
He was witnessing something
A longing that he felt would never be filled
He wanted to be in his friend's place
All those nights he huffed what chemical he could find
Killing off brain cells
He observed with a seemingly heightened visual acuity
the moonlight reflecting on the pavement
Reminding him of all of those nights he left his apartment
To roam the streets
Get some acid
Find a crack dealer
He knew the drill
"20 bucks a rock, mutha fucker."
He wasn't religious
But he wasn't an affirmed atheist either
He was just here
And his friend and his friend's girlfriend
Were there
The time had come
He snaked up to the house
And took his entrance
In the middle of a sweet exchange of affection
His envy
His emptiness overwhelmed him
Why couldn't he be happy
The blade shook in his hand
Then stabs followed
His body went numb
The blade
Now firmly lodged in the heart
Guaranteed sure death
He was tired of living
Tired of trying
He had taken his own life
He didn't want to kill anyone
Just wanted to show them how he felt |
