Sweet Angel of Death

I knew your life was fading fast
At last
The angel of night embraced you
I couldn't see why you were taken away from me
When I needed you most
This scar still hurts
I'm told your spirit is always there with me
But not being able to grasp onto your physical being
Left me wondering
Why
Time marches on
It's been three years since that cold rainy, night, that
I felt death
You felt it
But it was there for you
You told me you felt cold
It was your time
But I wasn't ready
Tears express my selfishness
As I long for something that I cannot have back
Until the day
We meet again
Goodbye |
