» Poem: Picture Of You
Picture Of You
written by Morbid Angel
09:58 PM 2/27/05
I'm starting to think the end has begun,
And all that follows is a picture of you.
Lying in my hand but I can't see me,
Somehow you're standing there alone...

The moonlight ladders in through the trees,
And the river keeps carrying me lower.
Nobody knows what it is to scream,
Keeping hold of your picture in my hands forever.

In the darkness of the night I can only see you,
But your smile is shadowed by my lacerations.
In the end you'll fall first,
Leaving this picture empty and of no ones creation.

Sometimes you've got to stop at the end of the line,
Let go of the picture and it'll all stop...
But I don't want to let go, I can see it in your eyes...
