I Shed a Teardrop in the Rain (Please Co
written by xxxxxxblackdragonxxxxxx05:37 AM 3/10/05Some say life is a journey
Some glide through it
While others struggle
But as we grow older
Our mind becomes wiser
While our bodies become rusted
Those who take the time
to think about the world's problems
And some of their own
Often find life to be a stormy experience
But its not all bad
We can practice self-expression
While serving our purpose to the world
To help ourselves and others
We are here for a reason
Some choose to wallow in self-pity
Never accomplishing much
Never overcoming their problems
Slowly rotting away
Alone
But if we take an optimistic look
on life
And have some faith
We start to learn
That the world's problems aren't all meant for our concern
And problems with loved ones are in the past
It's easier said than done
But if we choose to accept this
Then life seems a little more manageable
All of our dreams becoming a little more tangible
Then we can have a little more resolve
At the end of our road
At sunset
But the end of our mortal life
Is really only the beginning |

Dedicated to my uncle who is schizophrenic. He has pretty much been a lonely recluse all of his life living on his parent's farm. He was never married and has no kids. He did most of it to himself. He is now 65 and dying of cancer. This poem is what people like my uncle could do to improve their life experience. Sadly, he alienated loved ones from him all of his life, so the negative parts of this poem describes my uncle's life. I love him very much though and pray for him. Despite his life experiences, he is no less of a human being. [ View xxxxxxblackdragonxxxxxx's Profile ] [ Go to the Poetry Portal ] This Poem has been viewed 337 times
