9/11 (Please please read...)

I was only in seventh grade
News on the T.V.
Didn't know what was happening when it occurred
2001; a year i will never forget
A punch to America
But we stood strong
And endured
So many lives lost in the attack
Saw lovers jumping to their death
From the 90th story of the towers
No other way out
But i know God was with us that day
As so many stood in shock
Crying over lost ones...
Everyone had to help each other
We had to grow from the attack
And indeed we did, we grew stronger
Times became hard for many
And i can only imagine the feeling
Those newlyweds had
As they realized their life together that they thought was just starting
Was ending all too soon
A final kiss exchanged as they fell
Firey tears were shed
Families destroyed
Dreams crushed
As the nation observed what happened
Some running in panic from the collapsing towers
And after the dust settled
The nation mourned but decided to link together
And helped each other
God bless America |
