I kissed her head, then wiped away my tear,
My precious child, I hold dear,
You have no name it is true,
I’ve just giving birth you’re still brand new,
I’m in such pain, but my heart aches more,
I knew when the nurse bought you back from that door..
You didn’t make it, and I was to late,
To see your last smile.
I went to see you, in the white room,
When they bought you out that place,
Were the stillborns go,
You had no expression, on your small face.
The nurse handed you over to me,
You were so cold, blue, dead.
You didn’t know anyone loved you,
Because, nobody said.
Now as my tears drop onto your cheek,
The nurse says she leave, give me a moment,
But I cannot speak.
So I sit there in silence with you in my arms,
Hearing people walk past,
Just getting on with their lives,
But yours was over so fast.
The nurse comes back, but I wont let you go,
Just one moment more please,
So again I clutch you closer, again I make her leave
I know my time with you is drawing to an end,
So I lift you to my face, my heart is beating fast,
And I know you’re in a different place.
But I say it anyway, just encase you hear,
“I love you..my baby, remember my dear, I do,
remember I loved you truly, before your time was through”
Then you’re gone.
Forever.
And nothings the same,
And upon the grave they write,
“The baby with no name” |
