» Poem: I Gave Away My Innocence
I Gave Away My Innocence

What I once held in the highest of regards, I gave away
Not to a stranger though, I'm quite pleased to say.
It was someone whom I love, someone for whom I care,
Someone who in times of trouble is always there.
And as he took, that thing that I held for 17 years,
He took away all my troubles and all of my fears.

I'll never forget the movement between us, flowing like a river,
and I have come to appreciate more, the time we spend together.
For the love that existed, has now grown to another dimension,
no longer between us is there a sexual tension.

We're open, we're honest, we're loving and true,
and the best thing now is, we always follow through.

I gave away my innocence to a man whom I admire,
Now we have a passion, of which I will never tire
