» Poem: You Were My Angel
You Were My Angel
written by Morbid Angel
05:44 PM 3/22/05
I've realised my reason,
When I saw you all alone,
I tried so hard not to need you,
But you held out your arms.

And how could I say no,
After everything we know,
And the trust was broken so everyone else,
Knows just what I'm talking about.

Memories are stronger,
Then what they ever were before.
Time passed and we grew older,
But I never left you behind.

So happy I could cry,
So lonely I could talk to you.
Dreaming that I tried,
Instead of letting go of you.

Waiting for time to forget my sins,
God to let me back into heaven,
To where the angels softly sing.
You forgot you were my angel.

You forgot you needed me once,
Didn't keep hold of what it was,
So don't blame me for you downfall,
When you finally hit the ground with me.
