» Poem: Surrender
Surrender
written by Morbid Angel

Take your hands from around my heart and surrender like you should have done before. Hold your flag high because I can't do this anymore. Something isn't working out, somethings going crazy and I'm on the recieving end. I can't take the break but I can try and fix the bend. The light shines so beautiful on your smile tonight, tears are filling up my eyes so much that I could cry. To make the hairs on your neck stand on end, to touch you softly and make you tremble. This is what I live for and it's terrible. What happens when you're gone and things aren't so simple anymore, you don't know what it feels like to be stuck to the floor. When you could but getting out, finding new people and running around. Because we're free, and thats the way we want to be. So hold your hands high and surrender, I can't keep fighting battles so I'll take this chance to end them. I swear I tried to forget, when you held me by my neck, like a stab in the chest, kissing me like it's some kind of threat. In the back again. Perfect smiles to hide the day away, to keep you here and shine the day away. Because this is what I live for. I won't get into detail, the finer points are what keep us dreaming. Ignore the bottom line, and we will be just fine, like loving you is some kind of threat...
