Too Much Confusion in So Short a Life
written by xxxxxxblackdragonxxxxxx10:32 AM 3/24/05Every second i am closer to death
And every second seems to be wasted
My mind fills with thoughts of times not so long ago
Happy times
As i hear familiar voices of lovers, loved ones, and friends
Echo throughout the desolate caverns of my mind
I am a person that likes to stop and dream
But it is wasting my time,
As I ponder idealistic ironic outcomes of events already in the past
I light a cigarette in the twilight
Stars ablaze
Moon to set my gaze
I feel lonely as I watch the smoke leave its trace in the cold sky
I think of how we are all under the same sky
I take a walk to remember times i said I wouldn't live in the past
But everyday new questions arise
That challenge and inevitably defeat my hope for happiness
I see laughing friends
I see passionate lovers
I see families in their homes
Warm and unified
I throw my cigarette out and it extinguishes in the winter's first snow
I know that my time will come
But not today |
