» Poem: Never Ends When It Should
Never Ends When It Should
written by SuperBob
06:12 AM 7/29/04
It's taken a new home, no longer in the chest
It's taken a new home, now closer to my flesh
So long I have gone without turning to it
But now I fear all I have worked towards is ruined
I can't deny this need clawing away at me
For almost two weeks now I have closed my eyes to it
Yet all of that is ending for I sit here with the thought impending
I am sorry to say I am too weak for any of this
Never before would I have admitted to chasing my prescriptions with a blade
A slash to the flesh never did any harm
I lost a bit of blood...but it was always comforting
Over the years I have been comforted by little
I had found a person recently...but he can't protect me from afar
So I am pushed back to my blade...the first thing I ever found
I looked for a safety and there it was...shimmering in the light
I found my blessed blade waiting to cut me up
But then he told me that was wrong...as if I didn't know
He cried for me when I cut...and touched me through and through
But now I can't hide any longer...no more lies I say
I want to etch my flesh...just let me suffer in my way
