» Poem: To Be A Man
To Be A Man
written by Morbid Angel

Every shot and every blow,
Something rips from between us.
All we have left is the stars,
But I don't believe them.

You can't play if you don't follow the rules,
You're so ugly and empty.
If I touch you now,
Will you hate me?

So hush little baby,
Even though you're far away,
Everything wil be ok,
Even if you don't need me.

You can try hard as you like,
To deny you ever cried,
To be a man is to lack tears,
And keep on running when your heart is tired.

Do you remember or even recognize,
What it was to love me,
Or how love is defined,
When I need somebody to tell me...

What am I doing wrong?
Why am I lost?
Is there some secret passage,
That you all found?

So many problems inbetween us,
But I have my voice and I will scream.
Until you come and choke me,
I love you and you love me.

Emotionless and empty,
You don't mean a thing to me,
It makes you seem to ugly,
The way you won't admit to needing me.
