Let's Trade

If I gave you my whole would show me the land?
What if it was an eye for an eye?
Would that be the way to stop each cry?
If I gave you my lung would you breath for me?
If I gave you my tongue would you speak for me?
What if was an ear for an ear?
Would that be the way to stop each thing I fear?
If I gave you my hand would hold on to it tight?
If I gave you my land would you use it to fight?
What if was an artery for an artery?
Would that be how you remove this part of me?
Well too bad I'm not going to trade with you today
For you see I aalready gave most of me away
I live for something and someone new
And both of those, fortunately, aren't dear you. |
