» Poem: The Dream
The Dream
written by Morbid Angel
09:43 PM 8/26/04
I'd needed you so long, and then you came one night,
Dried my bloody tears, turned off the painful light,
You lay beside me, I listened to you breath,
You held me so tightly, and said you'd never leave,
You whispered "I love you", "You mean the world to me",
I drifted to sleep, like a child in your arms so warm,
A last kiss on my forehead, "You'll never be alone."

In the morning I awoke, but you weren't there no more,
Tears fell from my eyes, those words I can't ignore,
You said you'd never leave but now you are gone,
You left me all alone and the painful light shone,
I just wanted you to be here always and forever,
Holding hands or hugging, me and you together.
You seemed so real, your words seemed so true,
But it was all just a dream, a dream of me and you
